What a busy year we have had. It started with a new foundation leak (the third in the Tiede foundation leak saga) which prompted us to give in and find a more permanent resolution. We decided on do a restoration rather an re-piping our entire house. This was a three day process where we had to move to a hotel so that the house could be taken over by large equipment.
Once that was done it was pretty quiet around here if you don't include the always going on kids stuff...soccer...dance...golf...and so on.
This summer we just hung out around home and enjoyed the Texas heat.
School started for the kids at the end of August. Tommy started Middle School and just loves the fact that he changes classes and had more responsibility now. He also started playing percussion in the band and is really enjoying that.
Sophie is in 4th grade and growing up so quickly. She is busy with homework every night and is doing great. She is also taking more dance this year than she ever has. She is in tap, ballet and hip-hop classes for two and a half hours a week. She really likes it and tells us all the time that she wants to be in "company" where she will spend even more time at the dance studio each week.
Jake began kindergarten this year. He gave the teachers a run for their money the first week of school. From the reports I got daily from the teachers, he was pushing every button and crossing every line to see how much they would let him get away with. I told them to stand their ground and he would straighten up, which he did about a week and a half into school. He is doing great and seems to be saying new words every day. He has also been playing soccer for a while now and finally scored his first goal the other week, he was in the right place at the right time and was very excited!
We had a great time with family this Christmas.
