Okay, so I'm a little behind (as usual) but here I go trying to catch up.
After our vacation we only had a few of weeks until school started. The first week I continued my vacation time and spent the week at home with the kids until Friday morning when I had the opportunity to go on a special trip with my mom and sister to San Antonio. There Ashley and I participated in a "digi crop" and then we spent the rest of the weekend walking around and just spending time together.

The next week the kids went on a mini vacation away from mom and dad. Tommy had a great time with Uncle Justin and Aunt Ashley, Sophie a a lot of fun with Grandma and from what I hear, Jake had a blast with Uncle Kyle and Aunt Lisa.
We celebrated Tommy's birthday twice. Once at my moms house and once with Grandma (who Tommy shares a birthday with) at her house. I made two cakes, one that looked like a painters pallet and one that looked like a pizza. I was even able to procure a pizza box for the second one to make it even more realistic.

Then we spent the last week getting everything ready for school to start.
Tommy is in 5th grade, Sophie is in 3rd grade and Jake is in his last year of pre-school. They were all looking forward to getting back to school...to see their friends...and be back into a routine again.

This year Sophie decided to participate in the Hands in Harmony choir along with Tommy who is in for the third year. They started practice the third week of school and are already working hard on two songs that they will be performing for the first time at the Veterans Day program at school.
Jake has a new teacher this year, and although he misses his teacher that he has had the past two years, he has had a great start. He seems to be talking a lot and participating more than he has in the past.
So...school has started out great...we look forward to what the rest of the year will bring.
