Our journey began a little later than we hoped when we left town around 9:30 on Saturday morning. We made several "rest stops" and finally 12 hours later we arrived in Goodland, Kansas, also known as "The Golden Buckle on the Wheat Belt" for our first night away from home. Once we were in and settled we crashed, everyone was worn out.
On Saturday morning we got up and packed the car back up and got ready to head out of town. On the way we stopped to see a huge replica of one of Vincent VanGogh's sunflower paintings, and let me tell you, it was big! I went researching and learned more about it at www.thebigeasel.com, interesting.
Then off to Denver...see Part 2
