Five Tiedes

Wednesday

Balloons, Balloons, Everywhere!

This past weekend I had the opportunity again to go to New Mexico with work. It was a very packed two days. On Friday we went up the tram to Sandia Peak for dinner. It's quite a ride up, you start at 6000 ft and end at 10,000 ft and the temperature drops about 20 degrees when you get to the top. It's a pretty amazing view though.

On Saturday we got up and left the hotel at 4:45am to head to the balloon park to see over 700 balloons lift off on the first day of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. It's a site you can't imagine!

On Saturday night we went back to the balloon park for dinner and the twilight twinkle, but, unfortunately, they had to cancel it because of high wind and spotty showers.

By Sunday morning it was pouring rain and all activities were canceled, so in order not to just sit around doing nothing, those of us where were not leaving too early decided to load up the van and head to Santa Fe where we had a wonderful day of walking, shopping and picture taking.

I had a fun weekend, but and glad to be home with the family again.
