Five Tiedes

Baseball Update

Tonight Tommy's team played an 8:00 game against the Twins. We did not win with a final score of 10-1, but that was after 3 innings so we did not allow them to get the full 5 runs per inning cut off. The team played well together in the field tonight.

Tommy was 2nd up to bat and in his first outing got a hit that took him to first. He then stole two bases to end up on third, but unfortunately he was not able to score.

Then in the second inning Tommy got a chance to pitch. He pitched a lot of balls, and a few strikes. The outs came when their coach pitched, so Tommy did not get any outs.

During the 3rd inning Tommy played catcher. He did a good job in this position. In getting on all of the equipment he had trouble getting one of his implant processors to stay on so he ended up playing the inning hearing out of one ear, this meant he had some trouble hearing the coach, but he did great. After the game I asked him if he liked being catcher and he said no, it is too hot in all of the pads, but he did like pitching, so I guess we need to get a lot of practice in pitching.

In the last inning of the game Tommy had a chance to bat again, this time though he struck out. In the end we lost, but the boys seemed to have a lot of fun playing tonight, that is what is most important!

Mikey loves reading about Tommy's games and seeing the pictures! I wish I had seen you this morning at Field Day, we had our P/T conference so missed most of the day.
