Jake Hearing Update

Yesterday I took Jake to the Audiologist for routine hearing test and processor programing. We did the hearing test first to see where we might need to work on the programming. We tested both respose to environmental sounds (it sounds like static on a TV) and voice response. In the environvmental test he heard at 30 db and in the voice test he heard at 20 db. This is great! Normal hearing is 20db so he is now hearing voices (in quiet settings) normally! We can now move on to fine tuning his hearing. Our next step is to work on directional hearing (listening to hear where the sound is coming from) What a blessing this is, by the grace of God he is moving at a great pace to catch up with other children his age in this area!
